Atari
Anniversary Advance, released for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance back in 2002,
is a terrific collection of Atari coin-op favorites, including Battlezone, Centipede, and Tempest. All of the
titles are faithful to their original arcade counterparts and they look great
on the small screen. Most of the games control quite well with the GBA’s D-pad,
but Tempest just doesn’t feel like Tempest without a rotary controller. Atari
Anniversary Advance also saves your high scores on the cartridge, so you won’t
have to write them down on a piece of paper.
