GT5, Killzone 3 Codes Re-listed

Since they didn’t sell the first time, I’ve re-listed three PSN codes on eBay. One code unlocks a Chevy Camaro SS “Edge Special” in Gran Turismo 5. The second code is for the Killzone 3 Retro Map Pack. The third code is for three Unlock Points for Killzone 3.

All three auctions start at 99 cents, so there’s a great opportunity for you to get some PSN content on the cheap. Bid now!

Activision’s Singularity - PC Version - $14.99 Shipped

If you’re already tired of Crysis 2, you may want to consider picking up Activision’s Singularity for the PC. It’s a gorgeous sci-fi shooter with great action and an actual storyline. Playing as Captain Nathaniel Renko, you’ll have to unlock the mysteries of a 1950’s Soviet research base. Armed with the Time Manipulation Device (TMD), you’ll be able to harness the power of time, enabling you to freeze enemies, restore used health packs, and steer bullets al la Wanted. Traditional FPS weapons like pistols, shotguns, and rocket launchers are also at your disposal, which is a good thing as there are plenty of deadly mutants looking to eat your face.

Retailing for $25.42 at Amazon.com, you can pick it up for $14.99 right now from eBay seller dotcom-sales3. Quantities are limited, so pick it up while you can.

The auction starts at 99 cents. The code will be sent to the winning bidder via eBay’s messaging system after payment has been received. If you’re a Killzone 3 gamer, this code provides a quick and cheap way to level up.

The Retro Map Pack retails for $4.99 on the PlayStation Network, but I’ve started the bidding at 99 cents. If you’re a Killzone 3 gamer, here’s a chance to get some new content at a sale price. Keep it tuned to this blog as I’ll be listing another Killzone 3 code tomorrow.

Video Games for 99 Cents? Holy Cow!

Yes, it’s true. I’ve sold some of my old video games and accessories on eBay for a mere 99 cents. For example, I just mailed out an official Sega Dreamcast VMU to a lucky soul. He won the item with a lowball 99-cent bid. Good for him. Bad for you. If you haven’t been following this blog or watching my eBay auctions, you’ve missed out on some similar gaming steals. Take a look at some other 99 cent items bidders have won recently.

Perfect Dark Zero Pre-Release Comic

Video game publishers will distribute promotional items to market their games. These items are usually sent to retailers and reporters. One such item is the Perfect Dark Zero pre-release comic. This comic was handed out to showgoers at the 2005 Electronic Entertainment Expo to generate interest in Rare’s first-person shooter. I have one of these comics listed on eBay right now and the auction will be ending soon. If you’re a Perfect Dark fan or an Xbox 360 collector, be sure to make a bid.

New Dreamcast Consoles on eBay

Since I’ve been listing some Dreamcast items on eBay, I decided to see if there were any sellers that had brand new Dreamcast consoles for sale. Sure enough, I found some.

Seller collectiongames has a few Dreamcast consoles available for $99.99. Each console comes with a game. One system comes with a Jump Pack and an opened copy of Sonic Adventure. One issue with this listing: there’s no photo, but the seller does have a 99.6% feedback rating.

elnumero1again, a Mexico-based seller, has a couple of Dreamcast consoles in the original grey packaging. One has some writing on the box and the other is clean. If you’re a stickler, I’d suggest getting the clean one as it’s just $10 more than the marked one. Shipping is a low $15 for each of these consoles.

If you’re looking for some extras, then nathan28100 has a deal. He’s listing a like new Dreamcast console with a few games and some brand new accessories. Notable items include a copy of Sonic Adventure, a brand new Dream Blaster Gun, and a brand new Tremor Pak. The entire bundle is going for $175 plus shipping. This lot will serve as a great starter kit for someone and I probably would have snagged it for myself if I still collected video games.

Official Sega Dreamcast Magazines Up for Auction

I’ve listed more Sega Dreamcast auctions on eBay, but this time I didn’t list accessories or used games, but back issues of Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine.

Just like the Sega Dreamcast itself, the Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine had a short shelf life. It only lasted twelve issues before Imagine Media decided to pull the plug. While it was in print, the magazine served as the definitive resource for news, reviews, and demos for Sega Dreamcast gamers.

All the issues I have listed on eBay are in very good condition and the bids start at a rock-bottom 99 cents. If you played Dreamcast back in the day, or just want to learn more about Sega’s last console, consider picking up an issue or two.

Grandia II, MSR, The Typing of the Dead

I just posted three more Sega Dreamcast games on eBay. Like all of the other Dreamcast items I’ve posted recently, they’re starting at a bargain-rate 99 cents!

Grandia II on the Dreamcast is one of the better role playing games that I have played. Featuring terrific 3D graphics and an excellent storyline, this Game Arts RPG should not be missed. It has great voice acting and an interactive battle system that will keep you on your toes. I highly recommend it.

Metropolis Street Racer, or MSR for short, is the predecessor to the popular Project Gotham Racing series. MSR introduced the concept of Kudos – points awarded for driving skillfully fast. This unique gameplay mechanic forces players to draft, power slide, and speed all without careening into barriers and opponents. I just played it two nights ago. While the graphics are now dated, the gameplay is still as solid as ever.

The Typing of the Dead is a real wacky game. Take Sega’s House of the Dead 2 and replace the light guns with keyboards. To defeat the endless hordes of creatures and zombies, players must type the exact same words that appear on the screen. It’s unique to be sure, but it’s also fun. This game deserves bonus points for getting some use out of the keyboard controller.

If you’re still playing your Sega Dreamcast these days, take a look at my other eBay auctions. I’ve listed quite a few things recently, including a used Visual Memory Unit and a pre-played copy of Unreal Tournament. Also be sure to keep watching this space as I have even more Dreamcast stuff I’m looking to unload.

Dreamcast Demo Discs, Memory Card, VMU

I just put a few Sega Dreamcast items up on eBay. All of the items start at a low 99 cents. The items include a Generator Demo Disc and an official Sega VMU.

For those of you that don’t know, the Sega Visual Memory Unit isn’t your basic memory card. It also works as a standalone games player. With its built-in D-pad and buttons, the VMU is like a poor man’s Game Boy. Some Dreamcast games like Sonic Adventure and Power Stone had downloadable titles that you could take with you on the go. The catch, however, is that the games won’t work unless the VMU has two functioning lithium batteries. Many of the VMUs listed on eBay, like mine, have dead batteries. If you’re interested, here’s a YouTube video that shows you how to replace them.

One other note: VMUs with dead batteries function just fine as Dreamcast memory cards. All you have to do is plug the VMU into a working Dreamcast controller and you’re ready to go.

Next Generation Magazine Back Issues

Next Generation was a bit different than the other video game periodicals of its day. Based on the British gaming magazine Edge, Next Generation covered the entire landscape of gaming from arcades to consoles to PCs. Just by looking at an issue of Next Generation sitting on the rack, one could tell that it was different than the likes of Electronic Gaming Monthly and GamePro. It was printed on a wider, heavier paper that made it feel substantial. The content inside Next Generation backed up that sentiment as it focused on industry news and straight-to-the-point game reviews. The layout was clean and focused, unlike Die Hard Game Fan. Another unusual aspect of Next Generation was the fact that it ran job advertisements for industry heavyweights like Konami and Squaresoft. Next Generation was a must-read for me as I wasn’t just interested in playing and collecting games, but I also aspired to work in the video game business.

Right now, I have a few back issues of Next Generation up for auction on eBay. Anyone who’s a classic gamer should pick up one of these mags just to see what was going on at the time. A couple of highlights include an interview with Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto in Issue 02 and a look at Sony’s Net Yaroze in Issue 25.

Old Video Game Mags Like EGM and Stuff

As an appropriate follow-up to my old game poster auctions, I’ve listed some video game magazines on eBay. Believe it or not, gamers got their news and reviews from dead trees back in the day. The hottest gaming news was weeks or months old before it got to newsstands and mailboxes. Reviews were done by professional writers, not any Joe, Dick, and Harry with Internet access. Instead of GameFAQs and YouTube walkthroughs, magazines had cheat codes for level select and extra lives. In an odd sort of way, I miss those days of flipping through the gaming magazines and looking at the previews, the import titles, and the terribly bad print advertisements. If you’re an old school gamer, take a look at my eBay listings for back issues of Electronic Gaming Monthly and Ultimate Gamer. Also, be sure to check back soon as I’ll be listing some more mags in the next day or two.

I have a variety of video game posters up on eBay right now. Most of these are from the mid-to-late nineties. Featured games include the arcade classic Mortal Kombat II and the Activision platformer Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure. All of the posters have starting bids of 99 cents, so you gamers out there can pick up a small piece of memorabilia on the cheap.

99 Cent Demo Discs

I have some PlayStation 2 demo discs listed on eBay and they’re all starting at a low, low price of 99 cents. Demos include Dragon Quest VIII and Killzone.

In the next day or two I’ll be listing more demo discs, including some for the Sega Dreamcast and Windows systems, so be sure to keep an eye on my eBay listings!
